About Peter West

Peter West was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, home to such notable figures as Edith Hamilton, Dave Thomas, and Shelley Long. Fort Wayne was even one of the childhood homes of horror master Stephen King. It was from this cultural melting pot of the Midwest that Peter West grew up and formed his love and passion for writing and the arts from a young age. Peter developed his unique writing style from reading many novels across multiple genres. Though the authors are far too numerous to name, some of his greatest inspirers include J.R.R. Tolkien, James Rollins, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Dan Brown and Nicholas Evans.

Peter West is the author of “Reluctant Journey” and other works-in-progress. His writing is considered mainstream with elements of mystery, science fiction, horror and romance. Peter grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and currently resides in Bloomington, a few hours southwest of his hometown.  He is happily married to his wife Melanie and they have two beautiful daughters, Ariana and Megan.  They also have three cats — Katia, Mariah, and MJ, though Peter insists that he is a dog person.  Peter also has an older daughter, Ashley, from a previous marriage.
